Facing The Future
A self-directed course helping you to answer the question, how can I move forward without leaving them behind?
What is in this programme?
We created this course because we know one of the things that troubles the bereaved most is looking forward and creating a future that’s both meaningful and one where they still feel connected to their loved one too. Essentially, it answers the question, how can I move forward without leaving them behind?

You’re going to learn about 3 things:

Legacies: How to carry your person forward by building a meaningful and fitting legacy that represents their contribution and all that you learned from them.

Rituals: We’ll help you understand importance of rituals and assist you to identify personal practices to help you feel ongoing connection and keep your love for them alive.

Grief and growth: Learn about the five characteristics of Post-traumatic Growth and learn to spot how the myriad ways this loss has changed you, enabling you to build your resilience and live a life well lived.
3-Step Course
Delivered in three separate steps, this course will grow your personal toolkit, leaving you feeling stronger and better equipped to face the world – and whatever challenges that brings.
Videos, Guides, Surveys & Reflection Activities
Dr Lucy Hone and Dr Denise Quinlan translate the best of resilience and neuroscience research into practical tools shared in bite-sized videos, insights and guides.
Create a meaningful future that's still connected to your loved one
Develop rituals and legacy so your loved one is always remembered, and discover how you will move forward to a meaningful future.

How does the programme work?

A transformational course helping you rebuild your world and your sense of what the future may hold for you.

Facing the Future will build your confidence to explore hopes for the future, while still maintaining your connection to your loved one.

Explore and answer the big questions that grief leaves you with: What matters to me now? Who am I now? and How can I keep my loved one’s memory alive?

Everyone leaves a legacy. By exploring what you learned from your loved one and the impact they’ve had, you’ll be able to create a meaningful legacy that you can carry forward with you.

Learn why creating rituals can help maintain an ongoing connection to your loved one, and identify the personal rituals that will help you remember and honour your loved one.

Rebuild your imagined future. From the smashed pieces of your world, you will re-create meaning, explore your beliefs, and identify hopes for the changed future you now face.

Grief changes us. Noticing where you’ve changed and grown will help you rebuild your sense of self and support your resilience as your life continues to grow into the future.
